The Window Color and Appearance menu is first on the list and leads to this dialog box if you have hardware that’s up the standards of the Aero user experience. Pick one of the eight colors (or mix your own), choose whether you want transparent title bars, and use the slider to control just how transparent that Glass should be.
Classic settings: If your hardware isn’t Aero-ready, or if you prefer to ditch the eye candy, click the Open classic appearance properties link on the Aero dialog box to get to this old-school screen. Windows Vista Basic gets rid of the Glass and fancy thumbnails. The Windows Standard option makes everything look just like Windows 2000.
