1st of all, i'd like to thank the individual who created this forum, even if your name is also "bill".
vista ultimate was a clean install to this dell laptop, & everything was working great. till this threadmill started rolling in my head, powered by an insane gerbil, that prompted me into the thought of using the built-in BT, & eliminate the need of using the protuding USB dongle, to connect the BT keyboard elite & mouse. to further complicate matters, i found this software by BlueSoleil to do this migration. as usual, it did not go as planned, so i uninstalled BlueSoleil. | Code: | | http://www.bluesoleil.com/products/index.asp?topic=main_bluesoleil. |
now the BT tab in the control panel has left the buliding, & only the mouse (working w/out passkey still works, with the dongle.) searching does not see the KB. although the BT tab still appears in the device manager box, but i can't get it to acknowledge the existence of my BT HID KB ( also a microsoft product.).
so now you know why i talk about that "bill", while i am posting this, in hopes that out there is a glimmer of hope that could help restore order to this chaotic laptop, & help it to visualize the long lost BT tab, & recognize the KB kin also from the same family.
thanks for letting use this space to start the clatter here, since this is a combination of software to enable hardware device problem. any useful input would be greatly appreciated. thanks. |

| Why the backward slide with Vista and Bluetooth. I am not a Vista hater... I have grown to love the new interface. But I can't get my phone to sync with my computer anymore. It was so easy with XP. Why is there no Bluetooth place on Vista? |

| hello can any one suggest a brand and model of a bluetooth dongle that is compatible with vista? the ones i have acquired so far dont work well with the vista. thanx |
