FTP Problem (Vista)

I currently use SmartFTP or EleetFTP on my desktop XP PC with no problems.

I recently purchased a Laptop with Vista Home Premium and have installed both of the above programs on it.

However when I use either of the above FTP programs on my Vista Laptop to update my personal website I connect with the remote server then get the following error messages:

Error [10053] : Can't send (WSAECONNABORTED)
Error [10053] : Can't recieve (WSAECONNABORTED)

I have 'permitted' both of these FTP programs in Windows Firewall and I have also tried using them with the Windows Firewall turned off but still get the error messages. I have also used each of the programs whilst the other has been un-installed but still cannot get past the error messages.

Has anybody any ideas on how to resolve this problem?

Its very annoying as both programs still work on my XP PC and both PCs connect to my broadband connection with no problems.
