no sound when playing video on AOL

Im running plain old vanilla Vista at home on a Dell PC. When I play videos and sound clips using IE7, I have no problems.

But when I go to AOL and play a video, it's completely silent. The "You've Got Mail" and other sounds don't work on AOL, either.

Anyone seen this, and have a solution?

Had the same thing happen to me tonight. tried everything, including uninstalling aol (thru control panel and then in programs), and then reinstalling (googled aol 9.1 and the free download was right there), but that still didnt work.

Finally i right clicked on my volume control (bottom right corner of your desktop screen) and clicked on the option “mixer” (i have windows vista operating system) and noticed it showed the device which was of course “speaker”, but under the list of applications “aol” was missing. all of the other program aplication were there, such as windows, aim and skype. never figured out how to add the aol program back to the mixer, but, after i kept clicking on it, it all of the sudden apeared and now the sound works.
