Recovering hidden files from a corrupt identity

Please help, I tried to repair Vista by reinstalling over an exisiting home premium from an anytime upgrade disk that I had used originally. I now cannot see any of my previous data files even though from disk usuage they are obvious still there, VIsta appears to have changed the primary identity (which had access) so that they are not visable at all. Other identities on the system can see and access their files (although these were not hidden)
